Chub Bowl by Sami Kallio for Normann Copenhagen

With its playful yet minimal design, Chub is a tribute to the solid, durable quality of wooden interior objects from the designer Sami Kallios 1970s childhood.

Chub is crafted from FSC certified Ash and distinguished by four chubby feet placed at each corner in an almost monolithic manner. An elegantly curved bowl rests atop, adding a utilitarian element to the design, which presents itself as a decorative object and a functional bowl in equal measure.

The idea was to create something between a podium and a bowl. Sculptural enough to be its own centrepiece, but simple enough to let any contents shine.
