X Table HM13 by Hvidt & Mlgaard

Danish design duo Hvidt & Mlgaard released ‘X’ in 1959, a lounge chair and table with a distinctive sloping silhouette and understated aesthetic.
Both designs draw their inspiration from ancient Egyptian folding furniture – see the X Chair listed separately here.

Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) and Orla Mlgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) were pioneers of Danish mid-century design and the founders of Copenhagen-based firm Hvidt & Mlgaard.
